Well, I missed bloggin in October as I did in August. I am so tempted to stop blogging and delete my site because I just do not come here with the intent to blog. But, I felt that would be a bad decision. The reason is, I have several years of notes and entries I just don't think I want to get rid of. I know that I could print them all off, but that would just take time and create needless clutter.
So, maybe writing about my journey across the states will entice me to write more, and more often. Here is the first day.
I have always had a dream of running a steeplechase. It's a tough race and takes a lot of training. Right now, my focus is not on the steeplechase, but on riding a bicycle across the United States. I reminded my brother of this only yesterday, and he thinks I am nuts. I think that training for the ride will help me with the chase.
I have started going to my local park and using an outdoor fitness circut the park has. Mostly, I am working on arm strength right now. There happens to be a lot of snow on the ground, and most of the stations are not available for use. I could knock the snow off, but I am not that motivated. I am now able to complete one chin-up. I am positive that more will follow. And, one of the benefits of all this snow is how it has turned to ice. The city plowed the pathway that the circut is on. Whoever did the plowing thought it would be funny to make a wall of snow within the pull-up/chin-up bars. I bend my legs and do the chin-up on my own. But, I use the snow, which has since turned into ice as a support stand to work on my pull-ups. Still can't do one on my own, but I am optomistic.
Well, I think this is a good first entry. More to come.
